Experience/Qualifications Retired Law Professor I taught law from 1995-2014. I am available to work with students from 4th grade to graduate school. I bring a critical thinking approach to my teaching. I have particular strength in helping students find success in written and oral communication; learning strategies; and analysis. My academic specialties include appellate advocacy; civil procedure; legal analysis; women & children and the law; written and oral communication; and dispute resolution. In addition to teaching, I coached successful student teams in national competitions in Appellate Advocacy, Negotiation and Trial Advocacy. One of my Negotiation teams won the National ABA competition and participated internationally. I retired in 2014 from the law school classroom. I miss working with students both in and out of the classroom and am especially strong in one on one collaborative learning situations.

Learning should be enjoyable at the same time that it is challenging. It is in the challenges students encounter that real learning takes place. I am most effective as a tutor/teacher when a student has the courage and willingness to work through their particular learning challenges. In this way students in the top, middle or bottom of the class find the most personal and academic growth and success. I have strong skills in communication and have an easy going personality. I take a collaborative, critical thinking approach to learning and teaching. I have worked with law students at the top of the class and those with learning disabilities. I take an individual approach and have been successful in helping students achieve their specific academic goals. Students have found me to be helpful with learning and study approaches, exam preparation, analysis of subject manner and effective writing.
